This tool allows guitar chord or scale diagrams to be drawn and the results saved as an image or saved to a database and edited later.

Numbers or text can be entered where the fingers are placed on the diagram.

The tuning can be set for each string and then the note that each string would sound can be displayed on the image. This is useful for learning new chord shapes.

To add a dot click on the chord diagram.
To remove a dot, click the Remove radio button in Fingering Mode then click Set Mode button. Now when you click on a dot it will be removed. To return to adding, click the Add/edit radio button then click Set Mode.

When Fingering Mode is Add/edit when a dot is added or clicked on the String, Fret and Fingering text boxes will be filled in. You can change the fingering and then click Edit Fingering button to set it. String and Fret and Fingering text boxes can be edited directly. You cannot edit the fingering when no dot has been added.

In the Edit Chord section, you can set the Title of the chord (which can be displayed on the diagram), the start fret, the number of strings (1 to 6, incase you want to produce chord diagrams for eg a ukulele which has 4 strings). You can also set the tuning of each string and whether it is displayed as muted. Make your changes then click the Edit Chord button. Choosing Sharps or Flats then clicking Set will affect whether tuning and sounding notes are spelt sharps or flats.

The Dimensions section is relatively straight forward. The width and height text boxes cannot be edited - their values are calculated from the other sizes which can be edited. The image will be scaled to fit the browser window.

Chords can be saved to the database and reloaded later. Enter a name in the text box above the Save Chord button and then click Save Chord. To load a chord, select it from the list above the Load Chord button then click Load Chord.

This tool can also be used for playing Naughts and Crosses or writing silly messages :-)
